1) Purpose
We host professional, constructive discussion to improve Search and Rescue (SAR) readiness. Comments must add value, respect privacy, and avoid operational risks.
2) Scope
These rules apply to all comments, including text, links, attachments, and embedded media. By commenting, you agree to abide by this policy.
3) Core Rules
- No live-incident details. Do not post active scene data, live locations, tactical info, or ongoing ops.
- Protect privacy (no PII*). Do not share names of victims, personal addresses, phone numbers, emails, GPS coordinates, unit/station rosters, or medical details.
- Professional conduct. Be respectful; no harassment, threats, obscenity, or personal attacks.
- Stay on topic. Keep discussion relevant to SAR readiness, training, comms, equipment, and partnerships.
- No promotions/spam. No unaffiliated ads, affiliate links, link dumping, or unrelated self-promotion. Vendor input is welcome only when clearly educational, content applicable, and disclosed.
- Cite credible sources. When sharing technical claims or lessons learned, include references where possible (manuals, standards, AARs, public guidance).
- Follow agency rules. Do not disclose restricted information or violate your organization’s policies or laws.
4) What We Will Remove
- Live-incident/tactical details; doxxing; personal identifiers; copyrighted material without permission; malware/scams; harassment; explicit or immoral content; off-topic spam.
5) Moderation & Process
- Pre-moderation/auto-filters: Some words send comments to review or trash automatically.
- Edits: We may redact PII or sensitive details (noted as [redacted by moderator]).
- Removal & limits: We may remove comments and limit or block repeat offenders.
- Right to close: We may close comments on any post at any time.
6) Legal & Liability
- Your responsibility: You are responsible for what you post. By commenting, you represent you have the right to share the content.
- No guarantees: Comments do not reflect the views of the organization. We do not endorse user-provided links or claims.
- Jurisdiction: Comments must comply with applicable laws and agency policies.
7) Licensing of Comments
By posting a comment, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, store, and reproduce your comment on this site and related channels, with attribution to your display name.
